International University Travnik successfully organized XV International Conference ” TRAFFIC, ECOLOGICAL AND ECONOMY PROBLEMS AND PERSPECTIVES OF SOLVING OF MENTIONED IN THE COUNTRIES OF WESTERN BALKANS WITH AN OVERVIEW ON BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA”

International University Travnik – Faculty of Traffic and Transport Engineering and Faculty of Ecology, in cooperation with the Academic Partners Rezekne Higher Education Institution, Latvia; University Udine, Italy (Department of Agriculture, Food, Environmental and Animal Science) and Ecoistituto del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy organized XV International Conference „Traffic, Ecological and Economy Problems and Perspectives of Solving of mentioned in the countries of Western Balkan with an Overview on Bosnia and Herzegovina” which was held on 19 and 20 May 2017 on Vlasic mountain, in Hotel “Pahuljica”.

“Road traffic is one of the most important features of modern civilization, although for the all the benefits of this phenomenon, unfortunately, we are still paying with the high cost of unnecessary human suffering. Road traffic is a part of a comprehensive traffic system that is a significant factor of social events because it is an inseparable companion for the development of modern society and today represents the most represented aspect of massive individual transport thanks to the advantages it has in relation to other aspects of traffic “, emphasized in his addressing Academician Prof. Dr Ibrahim Jusufranić, Rector of the International University Travnik.

Measures and activities should be clearly defined

The Rector noted in his address that during 2016, 321 persons died on Bosnia and Herzegovina roads, which is less for 20 persons compared to the previous year, or 0,94 percent. During the past 2016, 884 accidents were recorded more than in 2015, as shown in the posts shows an increase in the total number of traffic accidents by 2,39 percent… ” said Rector Jusufranić, and adding: ” Reduction of the number of accidents reported as well as reduction of the number of killed for about 5 percent annually, or 30 percent over a period of six years, would represent realistic frameworks that could be achieved. The stated decrease of the total number of deaths and the total number of traffic accidents can be implemented by undertaking clearly defined measures and activities in all security fields as well as in all organizational forms of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. ”

The visiting guests and participants were also addressed by Muhamed Softić, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the MBC, who congratulated the International University Travnik on a successfully organized XV Conference, and Salko Selman, Director of the Development Bank of FBiH; Zoran Matošević, Assistant Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport MBC; Academician, Prof. Dr. Slobodan Nešković, Academician, Prof. Dr. Mladen Bodiroža, Academician, Prof. Dr Radomir Biočanin and Prof. Dr. Mario Anžek.

After the greeting speeches, the International University Travnik have handed over Certificates of gratitude to merit individuals. This year Certificates were given to honorary members of the program committee and academic partners of the XV International Conference – Prof. Dr Maria Amata Garito, Rector of UNINETTUNO University of Rome Italy; Prof. Dr hab. Andrzej Tretyn, Rector of the University Nicolaus Copernicus of Torun, Poland; Prof. Dr. Kęstutis Driaunys, Dean of Kaunas faculty, Vilnius University of Vilnius, Lithuania; Dr. Phil. Gilberto Marzano, Head of Laboratory of the Rezekne Academy of Technology from Rezekne, University of Rezekne, Latvia; Peter M. Tase, Scientific Researcher for International Affairs, Illinois Technology Institute, USA; Rezekne Academy of Technology from Rezekne, Latvia; University Udine from Udine, Italy and Ecoistituto del Friuli Venezia Giulia from Udine, Italy.

Also on this event the academic, rector of IUT, Prof. Dr Ibrahim Jusufranić have been promoted into the Academician by the side Ukrainian Technology Academy.

On this occasion, a book (textbook) written by the academician, prof. Dr. Ibrahim Jusufranić under the title “Traffic Systems – Theory, Transport, Technology and Trends”. Promoters were academician Prof. Dr Relja Jovanović; Prof. Dr Ivan Dadić; Prof. Dr Sinan Alispahić and Prof. Dr Enes Huseinagić.

At the same time, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ecological Research Institute of Italy (Ecoistituto del Friuli Venezia Giulia – President Dr. Gilberto Marzano) and the International University Travnik (Rector, Prof. Ibrahim Jusufranić) have been signed with the aim of immediate cooperation in the field of ecology (joint research, work on joint programs, cooperation in the field of ecological sustainability and development).

Exchange of experiences

At the XV International Conference, the professors had the opportunity to exchange, with the colleagues from BiH, but also with the ones from the region, experiences on traffic issues, ecology and economy.

At the International conference were present the guests from Lithuania, Latvia and Italy who held, prior to the Conference, several lectures within The first international lectures days at the IUT for the students of this university.

“Our goal is to get closer to the best universities across the globe, and we have a really impressive number of signed agreements, perhaps more than many of this region, and our goal is to connect, through scientific-research and educational directions, the whole planet’s sphere. The goal is to give students the knowledge, skills and innovations that are in the best interest of our country. To have Bosnia and Herzegovina progressing, to have young people employed, to have a better life than we have now, ” said the academician, rector of the IUT, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Jusufranić.
