A media literacy workshop was held at the International University Travnik

The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the International University  Travnik, organized a media literacy workshop for students of all study cycles.

Media literacy is one of the fundamental elements of civic literacy because the media are an important channel of information, communication between citizens and public authorities and can influence the formation of public opinion and attitudes.

The workshop aimed to acquaint young people with the role and influence of the media on individuals, as well as on society as a whole, and encourage them to think critically about the media and media content, to more effectively resist possible media manipulation, and to be more active citizens and citizens in a democratic society.

The subject of the study of media literacy is potentially harmful media content, media habits of children and adults, media genres, regulation and self-regulation and new technologies and, accordingly, new media ways of expression.
